Wikinews Astronomy
I am not sure if it is within the scope of Wikinews, but I can't think of any current Wikimedia projects that might be better suited for the topic. If possible, I think it would be really great if we could create a subsection of Wikinews with a calendar of various upcoming astronomical events for amateur astronomers, including passing comets, meteor showers, Lunar phases, eclipses, planetary oppositions, etc. While not necessarily "news" in the traditional sense, it is still useful current-event information that I think many people could benefit from having available from Wikimedia. - I don't know if the community will agree, but for that we need two news source. A portal page can be created where we can list the events. Seems to be a fairly good idea. but isn't it tedious. Plus, be careful about WN:Future?
