While writing is the most important task on Wikinews, there are other ways you can help:
Take a look at our community discussion page, called the Water Cooler. There are usually some threads open there that need extra input, such as new proposals or questions. Your input is always of value.
Look through articles in the newsroom. There might be an article with problems that you can copyedit or fix, or maybe you can help expand a story someone else has already started.
Consider creating a userpage for yourself - it's entirely optional, but can be used to tell others a little bit about yourself or information that might be useful to other users. For instance, if you know other languages, we encourage using babel boxes so that we know who can understand what language news sources if an international story breaks.
If you ever need help with something, there should be someone around able to reply in a timely manner. Try posting a question at the assistance section of the Water Cooler or, if you want help in real-time, join our chat room. (You might not get a response immediately if you choose the latter; just stick around a bit and someone should reply.)
That's it! Thanks for reading. If you have any comments or suggestions for how we can improve this newcomers' tour, please make a comment here.
