edit- Name: Douglas Gardner
- Location: United Kingdom
- Areas of interest: None in particular. I'm planning to become an accredited observer for the next round of UK elections, but that's not 'till 2011.
- Reason: I have come across several occasions in which it would be useful to have a Wikinewsie e-mail address, with accreditation. For example, in an effort to check to see if this file was actually a publicity shot, I tried looking at the FIFA website, only to find that it's media-only access to the section I was after. Actually getting into the media-only section seems rather trivial once accreditation is obtained -- some guy managed to get in as a representative of "Wikki Magazine" (sic.). It would also help me (and boost my confidence) when I e-mail various media representatives to verify facts, or to request clarification, as this is something I'm put off doing at the moment. I'd like to have access to the press releases that, I assume, come through to scoop.
- Accomplishments: North and South Korea exchange fire; Google phases out IE6 support; Ban Ki-Moon says Cyprus solution "possible"
- Contact information: I would prefer to not give out my personal e-mail address (although it's out there on some mailing lists already)
- User ID: 21035

Finally, please take this opportunity to explore the new subpage system I have put in place for accreditation requests. Please put feedback on the appropriate Water Cooler section. Regards, — μ 10:04, June 11 2010 (UTC)
- I am currently on a wikibreak for the next few weeks. Please take this into account when supporting or opposing. — μ 08:09, June 23 2010 (UTC)

- Support — Seems like a level headed enough user. I haven't run into any problems with them that would cause me to oppose. Gopher65talk 13:11, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Support based on checking submitted-for-review versions user cites above. Will close, and dole out the secret decoder ring in 24 hrs, but may need reminded. -- Brian McNeil (alt. account) /alt-talk • main talk 17:06, 10 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
