Closed wikis
edit@MGA73 Wouldn’t it be better if we left out the closed wikis? As an update would only affect articles published in the future, there will be no changes until Incubator starts with a new project, this time under 4.0 license. Regards --Ankermast (talk) 19:06, 23 August 2024 (UTC)
- Ankermast I added closed wikis to the list to indicate that I checked the wiki but that it was closed. I had not thought much about if we should change the license on closed wikis or not. But now that you ask I think one benefit of a license upgrade is that if it is put to life again then it will have the new license. If we do not change it and someone revive it then it will be 2.5. Right now the license in https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/source/mediawiki-config/browse/master/wmf-config/InitialiseSettings.php$10869 says "'wikinews' => 'https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.5/'," and that means ALL wikinews are licensed 2.5 unless the are specificly licensed otherwise. So we have to decide if we want default to be 4.0 or 2.5. Either way we need to list those that have a different license. --MGA73 (talk) 19:47, 23 August 2024 (UTC)
