Comments by reviewer: You cannot simply reword a source, sentence-for-sentence. That isn't enough to avoid a copyvio. I know some people will pass articles that are full of such copyvios, but they shouldn't be doing it. Instead of reading each sentence, then individually rewriting that sentence, you should read the whole article (multiple sources if possible), and then regurgitate that information in your own words. Some people find it helps to make a list of facts that you want to include in your article as you're reading the source. That way you won't forget to include anything important that you read. I'm not sure if this article can be salvaged, but even if it can't be, don't be discouraged. We've all had a few articles that we've written deleted from time to time. Example of the issue with this article:
Article: A city council panel backed Daley's new gun restrictions after he announced his proposal. The full city council is expected to approve the measures on Friday, July 2.
Sources: A City Council panel later backed the measures, and the full council is expected to approve them tomorrow.
Those are practically identical. Yes, I understand that there are only so many ways to write that particular sentence (or sentences). But that's the point;o). If you just reword their sentences you're going to run into this type of copyright problem. If instead you read the whole article, make a list of the pertinent information, and then write an article from scratch, you won't run into this problem. Gopher65talk 01:14, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
