Here are instructions how to sign up for the 'welcome a bit' feature.

The easiest is just by leaving me a message.

Option 1: list your topics (via a page) edit

Option 2: Take topics from an existing article (via script) edit

  • Visit any news article you like, starting from Main Page perhaps, and scroll to the end. Click the subscribe button:
     
  • You will be presented with two selections: the type of submissions (newly added publications, or newly added drafts -- more information at Wikinews:Reviewing articles), and the delivery method (your personal wiki talk page, or email). Select 'drafts' if you read PILLARS, and would like to participate in citizen journalism by checking the new drafts for STYLE and CONTENT. Make your selections and press 'select categories'.
     
  • On the next page please edit the list of topics, notifications for which you would like to receive. Here this list is copied from the article which you are subscribing from, but you can remove topics or add your own!
    A couple tips:
    1. This is an 'or' list: having 'Australia' on one line and 'Crime and law' on the next one results in you being notified on either topic. (To achieve 'and', put these topics onto the same line separated by a vertical pipe, for instance, 'Australia|Crime and law' is an intersection.)
    2. Each topic must be a valid category name.
     
  • Click 'Save'. You will receive a message shortly, confirming the subscription.

Option 3: list your topics (via adding your name to the list) edit

Alternatively, please click 'Edit' next to the 'Sign up' section heading and add your nick below in this format replacing the dots:
