How Long Will Ukrainian Truce Last?

Ukraine's President Viktor Yanukovych declared a truce after a violent evening in Kiev's Independence Square. Many are skeptical of how long it will last. there was a breakthrough in peace just five days ago when protestors agreed to unblock down town streets. This peace soon turned into a riot as ranks of interior ministry troops, special "Berkut" security forces, and police officers battled the protestors in a bloody war. So far 26 people, including protesters and 10 police officers have been killed on Kiev's Independence Square. This is the most violence the country has seen since it gained independence 20 years ago.

Despite the truce, violence was still erupting in Kiev through the night on Wednesday. Protestors set off fireworks, dun grenades and whatever they could find. Demonstrators have been seen throwing rocks and other objects at police who respond by throwing Molotav cocktails in their direction. Neither protestors nor police seem to be backing off as of now.
