User:Brent Dax/Linear skin
Linear (a working name) is a Wikinews skin I'm working on. The basic goals are to:
- Match the fairly stark look of most news sites.
- Maximize the amount of screen space devoted to the page's content.

A few things:
- I'm developing this on an old, incomplete dump of Wikinews; that's why the articles are old and the images are missing.
- The user's name is a drop-down menu containing "my talk", "preferences", and so on.
- I still need to do a few more things:
- Port many omitted style rules over from MonoBook
- Make it work properly in Internet Explorer
- Complete testing and tweaking in other browsers
- Find a better way to extract the category information
- Convince myself it's actually good enough
