This script is designed to make the creation of date and month categories, as well as date and month list pages, quick and easy. Manually creating all of these pages could take a lot of time, but this script simplifies the process.

How to Install

To install the script, copy the following code and paste it into your common.js page in your user space.

Once the script is installed, return to this page. You will now find a form under the "Quickcat Form" section.

  • Enter the year and select the months.
  • Choose a page type. There are four options:
  1. Date category (e.g., Category:January 1, 2024)
  2. Month category (e.g., Category:January 2024)
  3. Date list (e.g., Wikinews:2024/January/1)
  4. Month list (e.g., Wikinews:2024/January)
  • Now, click the Preview button to see all the target pages that will be created or updated, along with the templates that will be added.
  • If everything looks good, click the Create Pages button and relax. It may take a little time, depending on the number of pages being generated/ updated.
