Well they've passed bills in the past to fund the military during a government shut down, but not this time. I can tell you as a military spouse that half a paycheck sucks, especially when we found out after 12 noon on friday. While back pay while happen, that doesn't pay for my twin's food and diapers now (which I already have plenty of). My wife was in plenty of meetings today to discuss the situation. Her proposal is half pay should equal half work. I say we see how that works in Afghanistan and Korea. I'm pretty sure the South Koreans wouldn't be happy. Oh and I have one friend in the military who is not only getting half pay, but having to work 12 hour shifts instead of his standard 8 due to an exercise, now that's B.S.

Oh, waaaah. People with extremely poor financial management skills (which you'd have to have to be so panicked about a few half-checks) expect the government to bow and scrape to them. Any soldier who attempts to do half-work should be thrown in a full brig. They call it "service" for a reason, let's not forget it because they seem to care most about money and not protecting this country. 24.159.24.36 (talk) 21:37, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
