Why Do Uk'ers Keep Posting Non-relevant Information On The Current Events Page?
Fragment of a discussion from Comments:Tree car crash kills two in Oxfordshire, England
Local reporting is all fine and dandy. However, the number of local UK stories is disproportionate to local US stories. Only 2 times I've seen Detroit on this page, the Christmas bomber and when Kwame went to jail. Nuff said.

Unfortunately this group is unpaid, so they write about what interests them, rather than what an editor tells them to write. Additionally, you are comparing one US city, to an entire country. Of course there is going to be more stories about the UK than Detroit. If you look at Category:United States you will find 5,280 stories (1 mile worth, how coincidental is that?) and in Category:United Kingdom you will find 1,827 stories. So there is significantly more stories for the US.
