Template:Maintenance date/diff

[edit] Template documentation

Usage edit

Given two dates, this template calculates how many days elapse from the first date to the second. If the first date is later, produces a negative integer.

Mandatory parameters {{{1}}} and {{{2}}} are the two dates.

If the year components of the dates differ by more than one, the integer produced may have the wrong magnitude, but will still have the correct sign. For example, {{maintenance date/diff|January 15, 2016|December 15, 2006}} = -31. Since anticipated use is for scheduling short-to-medium-term maintenance tasks such as deletion of abandoned articles, intervals of more than a few weeks would seem unlikely to arise.
