This is a documentation subpage for Template:Datecategory/decat (see that page for the template itself).
It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

Usage edit

This subtemplate of {{datecategory}} transcludes a specified page, but strips out any category-inclusion directives. Not recommended for general use (stable, comprehensive solutions should be sought, instead of trusting an ad hoc filter to compensate for unintended consequences of transcluding a standalone page), but should suffice for the low-impact purpose of transcluding briefs pages into date categories.
