Saying that 70 Million Americans support the investigation after asking 1200 is bollocks, sorry.

Properly conducted surveys on interesting topics almost always qualify as news. This story is news, the only ponetial problem is that the survey is a bit old. However, a week delay is acceptable but is starting to push it a bit. The big problem with this story is the claim that a survay of 1200 equals the views of millions. According to the sources, it was 45% who want a 9/11 re-investigation. So I changed the figure in the title from 70% to 45%. The figure "70%" probably came from a previous version where it said "70 million", which is more to the point, actually. Mikaelbook 11:36, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
- I used the 70% number from the title and subtitle of the World Net Daily source. However looking more closely at the article and the other sources, I find this number a bit odd. It looks like the 45% number is correct. --Cspurrier 13:49, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
The news about the Zogby poll went largely unreported by the mass media, not only in America, but in other parts of the world as well. I have looked in vain for these news in "Le monde" (the prestigious French newspaper), "Helsingin Sanomat" and "YLE Aktuellt" (Finland's biggest paper in Finnish and public broadcasting company news in Swedish, respectively), "Dagens Nyheter" (a big newspaper in Sweden), and other mass distributors of news. Compare with the story about Osama bin Laden claiming that Moussaoui is not-guilty which came one day after the release of the Zogby poll.
The news about Osama were spread by all the above-mentioned media although the authenticity of the tape with the statement about Moussaoui must be doubted. However, when a rumour like "The present King of France is bald" is broadcast massively enough, it ends up being believed both by large parts of the public and by the broadcasters themselves. Somehow, there must be a surviving king of France somewhere, when so many people are talking about him... Mikaelbook 05:33, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
