- May I ask how? --JJLiu112 (talk) 03:28, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
- @JJLiu112: there must be a method to 'forward the email' in your email client. Look for 'forward individual email' on the Internet. Ping me (acagastya) if you are still facing difficulties.
2401:4900:50A1:1610:E1E4:7081:71CB:E58B (talk) 03:41, 31 March 2021 (UTC)- I see, thank you. I'll do it in the morning, it's nearly midnight here. --JJLiu112 (talk) 04:17, 31 March 2021 (UTC)

- Hi, thank you for the update. Please note that this talk page is visible to the general public. It is preferred to copy/paste such notes into an email to scoop, unless the interviewee has given permission to upload the messages. Gryllida (talk) 04:06, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
The last emails of each conversation have been forwarded to scoop; whoever manages them can click the signature box for the full record. --JJLiu112 (talk) 01:51, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
Regarding phone calls edit
This interview was conducted by phone. Do I write their entire transcript here? --JJLiu112 (talk) 19:39, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
- My apologies for the spam, but I'm concerned (1) on the talk page, I'd be readily ignored (2) on the IRC, I would mess something up and (3) if I don't include it but needed it, I'd be marked down for review and if I do but didn't, I'd have wasted a good five hours of my life. --JJLiu112 (talk) 02:22, 1 April 2021 (UTC)
- Have you recorded the calls, @JJLiu112:? If yes, you would have to share it with scoop.
•–• 02:56, 1 April 2021 (UTC)- Share the recordings, as in the audio files, or the transcript, that is the written-out version of every word spoken? If the former, done in ten seconds. If the latter, takes ten hours. --JJLiu112 (talk) 04:04, 1 April 2021 (UTC)
- Also yes, I have recorded them and they're on my computer now. --JJLiu112 (talk) 04:11, 1 April 2021 (UTC)

What is the file size, @JJLiu112:? And yes, I am talking about the audio files.
•–• 04:17, 1 April 2021 (UTC)
- I made two calls, one lasting three times as long as the other. The longer of the two has been split into three separate files.

- Dont email them or sent it to scoop. Let me make arrangements so you can share it with me, and I will put it on files. sharing it with scoop.
•–• 02:39, 2 April 2021 (UTC)- Uploaded to the Commons and on the page, I've already made it upfront and clear it would be recorded so I think I'm fine on that front. --JJLiu112 (talk) 04:17, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
- Alright, let me know when such arrangements may proceed. --JJLiu112 (talk) 03:42, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
- Well, the recording is marked under CC BY-SA 4.0, so we can't proceed with that, JJLiu. When you tell someone you are interviewing them for Wikinews, and they continue to answer, that is their agreement you can decide the license of the content. But to publish it on-wiki, we need it to be under CC BY-2.5, or CC0. (It can have dual licenses too.)

- Rectified. --JJLiu112 (talk) 22:05, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
- Courtesy ping@Acagastya:, but with all due respect I really would like to start work on this soon. Early voting begins 19 April 2021. Assuming you see (and hopefully approve) this 3 April, I finish writing 4 April, and we have two days of revising and editing it'll be done 6 April, a 8 days after the interview took place. --JJLiu112 (talk) 04:09, 3 April 2021 (UTC)

Review thoughts edit
- Attn, @JJLiu112:. This article needs media -- please consider adding relevant images. Such as portrait of Ron Wright, and Mizher -- if no free images are available, you can upload under fair use.

•–• 14:54, 6 April 2021 (UTC) - Kudos for handwritten notes! Keep it up!

- Regarding #1, sure. Regarding #2, sure. Regarding #3, what? --JJLiu112 (talk) 18:01, 6 April 2021 (UTC)
- @JJLiu112: I heard you flipping pages to refer to a quote from the interviewee's site -- so kudos for handwritten notes!
•–• 18:07, 6 April 2021 (UTC)- Oh, well thanks :) --JJLiu112 (talk) 18:08, 6 April 2021 (UTC)

- Attn, @JJLiu112:. I can't find in the sources Susan is leading 21%, or any other statistic for that matter. Nor do I find the info how they voted for Trump, or if it is lean republic. In any case, it needs to be attributed. Right now, I have verified everything else. But without that, I can't publish. Please advice how to verify those facts.
•–• 11:41, 7 April 2021 (UTC)- I'm puzzled how? See https://www.insideelections.com/news/article/new-poll-in-texas-special-election-tx-06, which mentions the poll in paragraph two, the margin of error in the last paragraph and Trump's victory in the middle. See https://www.insideelections.com/ratings/house for lean Republican. Both are cited, I'm not sure where the problem is. --JJLiu112 (talk) 13:37, 7 April 2021 (UTC)
- Courtesy ping@Acagastya:
- @JJLiu112: who conducted the poll? Attribute. And are we saying in our words it is right leaning? If not, what does it mean? What kind of metric is being used?
•–• 15:39, 7 April 2021 (UTC)- "Who conducted the poll?" "The March 9-12 survey by Victoria Research". "Are we saying in our own words it is right leaning?" No, we're saying it's "lean Republican", which Inside Elections calls it. I don't understand what's wrong? I must refer you again to the two links above, which clarify every question you asked. --JJLiu112 (talk) 15:59, 7 April 2021 (UTC)

@JJLiu112: these questions need to be answered in the article. Attribution and details about the poll/nomenclature must be added by the author in the article. I can't do that as an independent reviewer. So to answer "what's wrong?" -- please add these details in the article for me to resume reviewing. If I add it, someone else would have to review the article, then.

Review of revision 4614334 [Passed] edit
Revision 4614334 of this article has been reviewed by Acagastya (talk · contribs) and has passed its review at 18:21, 7 April 2021 (UTC).
Comments by reviewer: I have nothing but praise for this article, @JJLiu112: -- someone else doing an interview is much better and needed change -- and I really like the way you spoke. A few things to consider: please have local links in place of {{w}}. Source for "a never ending fight for fidelity to the Constitution and promotion of our Conservative values" was discussed on IRC but not in the sources section -- please cite those things, if possible. I found the attribution for the poll could have been better (thanks for doing it when mentioned on the talk). And if someone says "Don't publish XYZ" -- we are journalists must take the responsibility to confirm with them about it. That costed us several hours, but I hope we both learned a valuable lesson. Oh, also, please add media. The reviewed revision should automatically have been edited by removing {{Review}} and adding {{Publish}} at the bottom, and the edit sighted; if this did not happen, it may be done manually by a reviewer. |

Could we add Wikinews interviews Democratic candidate for the Texas 6th congressional district special election Daryl Eddings, Sr's campaign manager to related news? --JJLiu112 (talk) 22:04, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
- News articles are snapshot in time and related articles section is for articles which were already published, not newer. We have used {{update}} in the past, for article like Pakistan's National Assembly passes bill to merge Federally Administered Tribal Areas with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the FATA merger. But Eddings' article is not an update to this, it is simply a very different thing on its own.
