Former title: "Riot for 50 dollar laptops sold by school in Henrico County, Virginia" - slight problem with renaming/moving; had to perform manual move/rename.

Math error ?Edit

Unless one person had both a leg injury and heat-related illness, this is a math error:

"four requiring hospitalization - one for a leg injury, and four for heat-related illness"

Overblown storyEdit

The minor injuries described indicate that this was not the riot that has been portrayed by the media. StuRat 20:26, 18 August 2005 (UTC)

Are Americans this poor?Edit

I don't get it. I've always been told how america's the greatest, richest country in the world. Now I see the old people taking buses to Canada for drugs, 50 million americans with 0 health insurance; and now, a riot over a bunch of used computers? What's the real deal over there?

Many people are poor... not third-world poor or anything, but enough that a nice computer is a luxury. Most people I know are stuck in dinky jobs in fast food, supermarkets, and customer service, and lucky if they can get better than part-time hours. College doesnt seem to make much of a difference (hence the general amusement at GWB's statement in the last debates about what he would do about jobs being shipped overseas being to help people get educations).

photoEdit

there is a photo available of the melee at the richmond times-dispatch webstite. this is the url: http://www.timesdispatch.com/servlet/Satellite?blobcol=urlmainpicture&blobheader=image/jpeg&blobkey=id&blobtable=MGImage&blobwhere=1031784482811&ssbinary=true

2nd ¶Edit

four requiring hospitalization - one for a leg injury, and four for heat-related illness

Five in total, then. Or was it three for heat-related illness? Please fix.
