Talk:VP Cheney role surfaces in U.S. domestic spying
the last two graphs do not add up to me. one says that the justice dept has not started looking into illegalities of the nsa intercepts, and the next graph says the head of the the justice dept has said the intercepts are legal. --Cogito1 20:47, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
- You read it wrong; the Justice Dept. is investigating the leak - not the program itself.
Is the term overseas precise? Are Calls to Canada or Mexico spied or not?
- international is more accurate / article text changed
Christiana Amanpour
editThe allegation that NSA spooks (or somebody) spied on CNN correspondent Christiana Amanpour may belong in a separate story, but seem at least tangentially connected. Anybody know anything?
according to [1], the NSA acted to broaden its ambit even prior to the authorisation by bush. need to reword the line "... and after Congress passed a September 2001 resolution" to reflect the uncertainity about this? Doldrums 05:29, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
- Appears the NSA was proactive in its involvement, but the shut down, or nod to go ahead, seems clearly at the hands of the administration. -Edbrown05 10:59, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
