Image on main page

I haven't yet read the story, but the image on the main page is completely unexplained and seems totally unrelated to the story - it says nothing of who he is or why he is relevant. A photo of a car, or a gathering of senators, would be more appropriate, although this may be fine if there is something to mention why it is there (mainly because it is so big).
