Since this story is happening in the Czech Republic; it seems to have been overlooked by the wire services. I think it has huge potential because the US government has been saying the Guantanamo inmates have been denied trials and geneva conventions because they are so extremely dangerous and now they want to arrange asylum for them in other countries and are saying these same guys are actually harmless afterall.

It begs the question; why not give them asylum in the US?

The answer, imo, is because that would bring this obviously nonsensical paradox to the attention of the american people...i.e. if the prisoners in guantanamo are such bad guy terrorists; as the US has been saying all along; why is the US government now saying they are harmless and trying to get them asylum? Ok; I found a second source; the asylum issue is buried in the middle of the AFP story. Neutralizer 23:10, 10 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
