Talk:Two dead, seven others wounded in church by gunfire in Tennessee, United States
I've removed the decimal point from "12 gauge". Shotguns, with the exception of the .410 are not named after decimal measurements of their bore diameters as most pistols and rifles are (e.g. .22LR and .40S&W). The 12 in 12 gauge signifies that it would take 12 lead balls of equal diameter to the bore of the weapon to produce 1 pound of lead. Therefore it is '12 gauge' and not '.12 gauge'. If 12 gauge were to be expressed as a decimal bore diameter (rifle style) it would be .729 Shane.Bell (talk) 09:43, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
