Talk:Swine flu outbreaks appear globally; WHO raises pandemic alert level to 5
Level 5 alert edit
This article now needs to focus on the fact the WHO has raised the pandemic alert level to 5. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 20:59, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
- Here is the alert level chart, but the WHO's website crashed the second they announced level 5 http://www.who.int/csr/disease/avian_influenza/phase/en/index.html :-/ DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 21:00, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
- That's strange, the web page you provided says that the pandemic level is still at number four. tempodivalse 21:04, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
- Ach, I see it now, on the WHO's front page. Never mind! tempodivalse 21:05, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
- Not updated yet on chart: here are some links: http://www.wtvynews4.com/news/headlines/44015157.html http://www.javno.com/en-world/who-chief-raises-flu-pandemic-alert-level-to-5_254651 DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 21:09, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

OR edit
WHO website crashed for about 20 minutes following the level 5 announcement. I tried to access it for quite a bit with no success. Back up now. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 21:58, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
Texas school closing ? edit
Copied from comments:
can someone give me a link where rick perry said all schools need to be closed statewide in texas?
if someone cant show where it says that im just going to remove it from the article i cant find it anywhere.
- I was wondering the same actually - but I hadnt dug through all the sources, so I reckoned it might be somewhere. I think given the time, a notice might be more appropriate than just removing the info (if indeed he made no such statement). Sean Heron (talk) 17:15, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- Found it: AP. Third paragraph from top. Unfortunately, it appears as though I misunderstood that paragraph when writing the article to mean that the governor had ordered schools to close across the state, which isn't the case (only some schools have shut down, voluntarily, and not by governor's order). Sorry for this mistake. tempodivalse 17:30, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
