The Government of Japan has provided the sum of $ 1.3 Million (one million three hundred thousand United States dollars) for the prevention and control of infectious diseases. The fund is aimed to support the government’s efforts at reducing child and maternal mortality in Sierra Leone.
The German Representative at the Meeting therefore advised the Government of Sierra Leone to double up efforts in promoting women’s issues in the country. <...> The APC-led Government had been hopeful for a minimum of $850million but the total pledges made were only to the tune of $300million with strings of conditionalities attached to the pledges ever coming to fruition.
