Non-neutral title

edit

Isn't the title "Gaza Strip schools to go without books" a bit inflammatory, possibly non-neutral? Nowhere in the referenced articles is it stated that the schools will have no books... they'll just not have all that they need. --Quadrastreet 19:11, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ironiridis: I appreciate the change from "without books" to "without textbooks", but shouldn't we get rid of the phrase "go without"? How about a revised headline: "Gaza Strip schools to be short on textbooks". My reasoning is that if you say someone has "to go without water" you rightly assume they have no water. In this case, the kids will have textbooks, but not all that they need. --Quadrastreet 19:25, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, but what's being said in the article is that there is simply no paper to print books. I think the term "go without" is strong, but appropriate, because some students won't have any textbooks.
By the way, I edited the title, not because of your comment, but because I only noticed the article after you commented and it showed up in rc. :) irid:t 19:27, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
I agree that some students won't have any textbooks. Shouldn't the headline then read, "Some Gaza Strip students to go without textbooks"? --Quadrastreet 19:31, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
sofixit. :) Go ahead and rename the page. I'll clean up the redirects for you if you want. irid:t 19:33, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
I believe I did the rename correctly. Not sure if there is a need for clean up. --Quadrastreet 19:39, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
There always is in the case of an article that has been renamed more than once. All redirects must point to the newest article name directly. See 1234. irid:t 19:42, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Wow guys, how about we tell the real story here. The article would be more properly named something like "Israeli military keeping textbooks from Gaza students" Wrc wolfbrother 22:42, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Actually, it's paper... not textbooks. I didn't have any objection to "telling the real story" -- I just didn't want it to read like every kid in Gaza would have to go to school without a textbook to use. Doesn't that seem ridiculous? Don't they have textbooks from previous years?! The "real story" is about how the media can influence world opinion. --Quadrastreet 23:30, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

How do we change the headline that shows up on the main page and the RSS feed? I appreciate your help in fixing the redirects. --Quadrastreet 19:46, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm seeing the most recent name on the main page and on the feed. You may need to purge your cache. irid:t 19:48, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yes, it's fine. My mistake. --Quadrastreet 19:51, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
