Talk:Russia joins South Ossetian war

Latest comment: 15 years ago by Gopher65 in topic According to RIA Novosti,

Just wanted to note that the site (South Ossetian State news - I hope) is repeatedly down. I hope it will become more accesable again soon. Regards Sean Heron (talk) 12:51, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Source I removed, if anybody might want to use the info:

More on Red Cross - it asks for coridor to evacuate the wounded and civilians from Tskhinvali. [1][2] Tskhinvali hospital is out of order.[3]--Beaumain (talk) 15:32, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Old photo

Please remember that this photo is NOT illustrating the current conflict -- it's from 2004 (you can download the original photo file and check the EXIF header, for that purpose). Also note that it was uploaded at "05:55, 9 June 2008". -- Wesha (talk) 19:18, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

I am aware, but I believe it is a good illustration of the current conflict. Anonymous101talk 19:56, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
I have specified in the text below the image that it is from 2004. I hope this resolves your issues. Anonymous101talk 20:02, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
I was concerned because when I specified the year before, it has been removed. I don't have any issues, I just want to make sure there are no factual mistakes. While the photo does illustrate the conflict, no contest, we shouldn't leave the reader with an impression that it's been freshly taken. -- Wesha (talk) 20:29, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

It is nice to see so many contributors collaborating on one article. (Yuriybrisk, me, Sean Heron, Skenmy, Marius2, Wesha, Calebrw, Gopher65, Hardys, Beaumain, Adambro, Wikidsoup and SJL have all worked on this article) Anonymous101talk 20:09, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thank you, it's a pleasure working with all of you. --Yuriybrisk (talk) 21:53, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

According to RIA Novosti,

Uh, OK. This is probably a foregone conclusion to most of the editors, but to someone who's reading the news to get the news, this means nothing. Who is RIA Novosti, why should I care about what they say, and what is their credibility? eg, "According to Georgian state news agency RIA Novosti," would state Who they are and their Credibility (Georgian state news agency in this example) and Why I should care (this is the state's view of themselves).
