How you can help on election day

• Copy & paste the appropriate text from the list below, adding the word "gain", "lose", or "hold" between the parentheses, into the gain/lose/hold tables when a constituency declares its results. (Please use section editing.) As you do so:
  • Keep the table of totals up-to-date. (Increment each total as you go along. Don't paste in the totals from a source. Different sources will have different totals, because they aren't synchronized with one another. It is best, for the sake of self-consistency alone, if our totals reflect what our gain/lose/hold tables say.)
• Watch interviews, speeches, and public statements. A set of quotations from prominent political figures helps to make this more than a bare set of statistics. Aim for the same format as used at Pope John Paul II dies#Tributes, including citing the interviewer if it is an interview.
• Watch the reactions of the stock markets and of other countries.

• Why should it be lightgreen? WP uses yellowgreen to differentiate it from other parties that have used a green colour scheme and, I believe, it looks better with black text on it, but clearly a casual reader of our Wikinews would expect Green to be green. How you can help before election day

• Find and upload public domain images of the various party leaders, and add images here accordingly.
• Complete the list of parties, that are fielding candidates, in the totals table.

• Assign colours to each of the parties, modifying the above list and the totals table accordingly. (The glaringly obvious colour for the Green party has been done as an example.)

- Done according to standards at w:Template:Canadian_politics/party_colours

• Create a list of constituencies, cross-referencing per-constituency articles on Wikipedia for the detailed results. See Results of 2005 United Kingdom General Election for how to do this. There is an informal project on Wikipedia to give each Canadian electoral constituency its own article.

- Stubs have been created for each BC riding.

• Find out what UTC time the polls are due to close, and update this article and Wikinews:Story preparation accordingly.

Why Green was not green

Colors

Why aren't the colors for the parties based on the colors the parties themselves use? These are colors from WP, and seem uniformly unrelated to the parties choices. - Amgine/^talk 03:28, 18 May 2005 (UTC)

• Of course we could use any colour we like but I thought a consistency with Wikipedia would be helpful. WP colours were chosen, however, to ensure a different colour choice for all historical and current poliitical parties which is less of a concern here. DoubleBlue (Talk) 03:31, 18 May 2005 (UTC)

change text color to black?

I find the white on various backgrounds hard to read. Does anyone else find it hard to read or am i the only one? Bawolff 23:01, 18 May 2005 (UTC)
