"John the Baptist, James, John, and Mary Magdalen, and 35 others" is 39. "However, only 39 bundles were found, indicating that . . . one had been lost." 39 - 1 != 39. According to the Irish Times article (http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/world/2009/0324/1224243318094.html) there were 40 names.
