Turkey is the modern country that is home to the majority of the ethnic group known as Turks. The area/peninsula Turkey is mostly situated on is called Anatolia or Asia Minor. Turks first came to Anatolia about 1000 years ago, while the languages the article speaks of, were used thousands of years before that by people who no longer exist ethnically.
