Where there is Religion there is Violence! Why???

I have never quite understood why where there is religion there is violence. I grew up in a religious back ground, well when I reached the age of 9 and I chose the good because well isn't that what every religion is about! Mm, then got to the age of 12 and well all those that were suppose to be extremely religious weren't the most honest types at all and that broke my belief a touch.

I will never understand when religion is suppose to be good and peaceful, each religious group will have it's major downfalls of contridicting their own beliefs with violence towards other people's belief's.

There has always been holy wars since the early days in the bible and still today.
