Talk:New Zealand Government to repeal Electoral Finance Act

I've added the original tag for two reasons:

1) this article draws on a primary source (in the form of the Hansard report of yesterday's questions for oral answer) in addition to published news sources. Having watched the relevant part of Question Time, the transcript is accurate.

2) the second to last paragraph provide some analysis. This analysis is based on the proposed sitting calendar, which will be formally adopted by the end of the week, and my knowledge of NZ Parliamentary procedure. In the New Zealand House of Representatives, bills follow a 1st reading, select committee, 2nd reading, committee of the whole, 3rd reading, law process as laid out in the Standing Orders, with the select committee stage usually taking several months (if it is quick) to a year. Power's proposed timeline makes no allowance for this. The bill is therefore almost certain to be introduced and passed under urgency ("almost certain" rather than absolutely certain because anything can happen with leave, however unlikely that may be). The final paragraph adds context to this, linking it to concerns about the new government's use of urgency which have dominated domestic political news for the past week.

If (2) is a problem (do we do basic analysis like actual journalists, or just lift and copy?), then it can be cut. Alternatively, some version of the above explanation can be added in.

The "Opponents of the law..." part on the EFA is lifted from its wiki page; its a fair summary of their concerns. Again, it can be rewritten. The law is highly controversial in New Zealand, and that could possibly be added.
