Talk:Montenegro secedes from Serbia

The title is wrong edit

Montenegro did not secede from Serbia, it was never a part of Serbia. What it secedes from is the federal state of Serbia and Montenegro. Huge difference. It be like saying "Oregon secedes from California", instead of "Oregon secedes from the United States". I know it's a bad example, but the point remains. --67.189.72.211 10:56, 23 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Correction to the article edit

I never really got to it, but it had to get done -- I had to post a correction. The mainstream media indeed gave us the illusion that Montenegro officially departed from the union of Serbia and Montenegro that day, but that was simply not true. This should serve as a reminder to the community: when covering a sensationalizing event, be very, very careful to take a look at the writing closely and not lead yourself to writing an inaccurate article. While it took a short while for the retraction, the important point is that we now acknowledge the truth. —THIS IS MESSED OCKER (TALK) 05:48, 21 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
