Confusing sources
editI read the source articles which refer to 1; meetings between undercover officers and informants 2; bribery to get a group off a list 3; arms purchase discussions and 4; someone held for extradition. I can not tell how many actually were involved in trying to arm Tamil Tigers...I think it is 3 but I am not sure from the source material; Toronto Star headline says 4. - The Star headline refers to the 4 Canadians charged, there were 11 charged in total (at least at the time the Star story was filed). Crimson 18:11, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
Closing paragraph
editThis is awkward and weaselly.
Quote
The charges in the complaints are merely allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
Something about the date which the accused will be tried on these allegations would be appropriate. We shouldn't have to emphasise innocent until proven guilty in the above way. --Brian McNeil / talk 18:21, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
- If the article has quotes from defense attorneys etc. then I agree with Brian, but when the article presents exclusively the prosecutorial position/quotes, then I think this or something like it is needed for NPOV; which might, at times, be awkward but is, nonetheless, policy.
