OR Notes

edit

I went to the event and took the photos myself. Subjects were asked to give consent as much as possible when they were about to be photographed recognisably. All the quotes I picked up on the day itself, either on the press conference or during interviews with Van Bellingen and with some other people present. Original notes will be presented if anyone wants to check. All quotes are translated from Dutch to the best of my capabilities.--Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 13:04, 22 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sufficient as OR notes?--Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 16:33, 22 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
I'd say so. -- Zanimum 15:04, 23 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Incredible job. :) Glad to see an exclusive out of this :) DragonFire1024 02:28, 22 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have to agree, great article, looks like you did alot of hard work :)—Dark Squall 02:34, 22 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks everyone. Feel free to improve it and nominate it for FA! :-) --Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 13:02, 22 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
I love the last picture in the gallery, "Mmmm Frites!". --Brian McNeil / talk 20:51, 22 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

An excellent article! It's amazing to find out that European racism exists. We're led to believe that Europe is so much more 'forward thinking' than North America. Another myth debunked. CanadianMist 21:06, 28 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Racism and other forms of discrimination exist everywhere. --Brian McNeil / talk 21:13, 28 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sources

edit

I realize that this is OR, but there are many sources out there that can collaborate your article. My opinion is if the sources are there, include them. --SVTCobra 03:40, 22 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oops. I forgot to compliment you on a nice article, which it is. --SVTCobra 03:45, 22 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
don't think there's a need to list corroborating sources for all OR we do, that just defeats the purpose of OR. i have no problems with listing other reports on the talk page, though. –Doldrums(talk) 03:57, 22 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Really a source should only be used if it was used as a source (imho). However OR should have detailed notes. (see OR policy). One thing though is how does this qualify as an interview? Anyways, excellent article, excellent photos. Bawolff 04:03, 22 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
I agree with Doldrums and Bawolff...take one of the OR articles sources I did here: No hotel previously on site of proposed Buffalo, N.Y. hotel location DragonFire1024 11:43, 22 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Well, I don't think interviews have to be more than a few original quotes from someone important to a story. -- Zanimum 15:06, 23 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
I could have published a separate interview with Van Bellingen, but it would have been somewhat short and not completely relevant to an international audience, so I decided to merge everything into one report. But I have interviewed him personally.--Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 17:07, 23 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Personally when I think of interviews, i think of "Avast ye scurvy file sharers!": Interview with Swedish Pirate Party leader Rickard Falkvinge. Directly asking questions, and getting responses. I don't think a few original quotes qualify for that. Bawolff 19:08, 24 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
I'll remove the tag.--Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 19:46, 24 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re: some comments from Doldrums

edit
  • Willockx didn't mention VB directly, but there is absolutely no doubt that he refers to them. He also named them in previous media reports and interviews.
  • The incident with the mussels was revealed by Willockx.
  • De Maeyer is a volunteer for the online registration during the event.

I've copyedited the text to correct this ambiguities, thanks a lot for those excellent remarks! Feel free to improve them further.--Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 13:10, 22 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

thanks for the fixes, Steven, looks a fine piece of OR. –Doldrums(talk) 17:10, 22 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
