Ceasefire looms? edit

I'm not a native speaker but doesn't only bad things "loom" ? Like, "disaster looms" or "war looms". --+Deprifry+ 21:57, 6 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, "loom" is a negative word afaik. --Jambalaya 02:10, 7 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
Renamed it. Dunno if "as cease fire is in the works" is "correct" though. --Jambalaya 02:13, 7 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
while i too thought so, apparently loom does not necessarily have a negative connotation (2b. below) - according to merriam-webster
Main Entry: 2loom
Function: intransitive verb
Etymology: origin unknown
1 : to come into sight in enlarged or distorted and indistinct form often as a result of atmospheric conditions
2 a : to appear in an impressively great or exaggerated form <deficits loomed large> b : to take shape as an impending occurrence
but it looks like its common usage is for a negative connotation. so, fwiw, i agree with the change. Doldrums 10:43, 7 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
