Talk:Kyoto Protocol comes into effect

This article is subtly anti USA. The statement that brings this up is "The United States is the largest polluter and contributer to global warming in the world." The US does produce the most CO2 but this does not mean its the largest contributer to global warming (which may not even be real). The second largest producer of CO2 is the People's Republic of China. This is a major reason some countries are not signing. The article currently touches this but is beating around it and making it sound very anti America and Australia. The article is about the protocol coming into effect not how the US is a polluter. One of two ways to fix this are to take out the statement quoted above or add that China is a major polluter. --Tardigrade 17:51, 16 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Made the article a bit better. edit

I changed :

The United States is the largest polluter and contributer to global warming in the world.

To:

The United States produces more   emissions than any other single country in the world.

This way, whoever wrote this gets his or her point across about the USA. I personally beleive this information is appropriate for the article, considering what it's about.
