Talk:Iraqi gasoline is the cheapest in the world at $.05 per gallon

I wonder who uses the most dirt cheap gasoline in Iraq??? edit

Maybe the occupying forces?Duh. What a great way to soak up some of the world's supply over there...where U.S./UK oil companies don't get the profits anyway..and then there's less supply (thus higher prices) in our countries where those companies do get the profits. These guys are so cute and smart; and we're such easy, dumb marks. Paulrevere2005 13:52, 18 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

US currency? edit

I suppose this article refers to US Dollars, however it would be nice to note what currency is being used (as Canada, Australia, New Zeland and other countries also use 'dollar' and the $ for showing currency.) --Mrmiscellanious 13:56, 18 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Coincidence??? edit

  • Here's another "coincidence theory". The price of oil has gone from an unprofitable $16. per barrel on Sep 10,2001, to $66. today File:Oil.2001-2005jpg.smaller.jpg . As this article says, the production from Iraq has gone way down since we invaded. The main beneficiaries of the increase in price are oilmen. The Saudis and the heads of the Bush admin.(Bush and Cheney) are oilmen as are some of their main financial supporters. What better way to push up oil prices than to get control of the 3rd largest reserves in the world and force down the world's supply. Maybe 1+1 =s 2. Or maybe its all just another coincidence. Paulrevere2005 14:00, 18 August 2005 (UTC)Reply
  • Wrong; that's the government spin; but those attacks have only taken 2% of the production offline. We just have not put out the effort to get that oil flowing. If Saddam could do it..with all of the supposed internal opposition to his government. Why can't we? Just do a news check for recent attacks on the oil system... NIL! + our planes could patrol and protect the oil system if we wanted to + we don't really know who has been attacking the oil system do we...we have never caught any of the pipeline bombers..not even once. If I was CEO of Exxon or BP I'd light up a cigar every time one of those rare attacks happened. Paulrevere2005 14:19, 18 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

units edit

given that this is a non-US news item, shouldn't it be in units that the majority of people understand? I am canadian and I can understand using US$ (being somewhat standard) but who honestly knows what a gallon is without looking it up?
