Relevance of enriched uranium edit
What's the relevance to the rest of the article of the paragraph about enriched uranium?
- The relevance is that Iran is currently censured for working on enrichment programs, which may produce weapons-grade material, while also developing a heavy reactor which theoretically would not need the enriched fuel (but would also be able to produce plutonium which, after enrichment, could be used to produce even more powerful nuclear weapons.) This should probably be sourced and included in the article. - Amgine 18:22, 14 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Additionally, if one assumes Iran is trying to make weapons, this would be a fallback if the enrichment plans failed. If one assumes they are legitimately trying to get a foothold into a doemstic and international nuclear industry, though, this is just a way to guarantee self-sufficiency if the enrichment plans fall through. Either way it is a power ploy of some kind, though whether it is military or economic in nature is exactly the difficulty with dual use technology.--Fastfission 00:36, 15 Feb 2005 (UTC)
