Probably not the worst translation done by Google translate. Do we need a better one? Genium (talk) 12:07, 2 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

I moved the sources into a dedicated section titled "Media coverage", I added template:original instead since I was there with the idea of taking photos for Wikimedia Commons. IMHO, this article features first-hand journalism by a Wikinews member! Genium (talk) 13:04, 2 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
We can run the articles through Google translate ourselves; the trouble is, automatic translation is done by pushing symbols around with no meaning involved, no understanding; ultimately, automatic translation can be horribly, disastrously wrong, or subtly disastrously misleading. Though it is of interest that you assessed this translation as not-too-bad, and of some passing interest that it's slightly different from the autotranslation Google translate is giving me just now.

We cannot, btw, actually host a complete translation of a copyrighted source on the wiki, because a translation of copyrighted material retains all the legal restrictions of the original (and adds to that whatever additional restrictions may be imposed by the translator). I've therefore removed the text from this page (though in fact, as an admin, I can still consult the text even after it's hidden from general readers of the wiki). --Pi zero (talk) 13:38, 3 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

We'll see how this goes. --Pi zero (talk) 13:39, 3 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Walkaround edit

I followed the event from beginning to end. I posted some photos on Commons… Then I wrote a short entry on Wikinews in English because I didn't find any sources in English except the first one, and my feeling is that could interest a wider audience… Genium (talk) 13:04, 2 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Genium: Is there any information in the text of the article —that is, anything here other than the pictures— that is original to your first-hand knowledge rather than from the cited sources? --Pi zero (talk) 16:12, 2 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
Yes, about the fact that the event was sustained by the city, the State, and the civil society. I saw posters in front of the town hall and the media library. It was also a cultural event, not just a religious one. Genium (talk) 17:18, 2 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
