Marches edit

They did the wave as a crowd before the start. Lots of rythmic chanting to the music as the competitors entered the court.

Judo is for blind athletes. They walk out and are escorted to the matts by guides.

General DISABILITY ORIGIN He has a visual impairment. He said, "My dad had a little club in Liverpool. We used train for about an hour a week but at the age of 16 I just wanted to go out and have fun with my mates. I started working in McDonalds. We got a call saying they were looking for VI (visually impaired) players. Then a few months later I was moving to Dartford and the full-time set-up. It all happened dead quick. That was three years ago. To now be picked for the Paralympics is mental." (msn.com, 12 Apr 2012)

We have upped sticks down here to Dartford. We live together, we eat together. We train together every day. At times it can be a bit testing but it is better to have that support to back you up. I am still Mum's baby, aren't I - but I still pick her up and put her in the sink. She loves that. Every time I go back to Liverpool I put her in the sink or the toilet.I used to be a right little fat sod, now I can just pick her up and put her in the sink!" (walesonline.co.uk, 11 Apr 2012)
