Well then I guess they would have succeeded in stopping at least one person from voting for the bill so they would have succeeded... Nil Einne 13:43, 15 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Mormons being arrested too edit

Here in NZ we get a lot of Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses and the like going around. Are they being arrested too? Nil Einne 13:43, 15 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I wondered about the connection to Mormon and Jehovah Witness canvassing too, which exceeded the scope of this article. In answer, I think it is correct to say that religious canvassers have not drawn the ire of homeowners, and therefore have not drawn the attention of police and the ACLU. -Edbrown05 06:35, 16 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

My changes edit

I substanially modified this line

Advocates against a referendum for a constitutional amendment that would ban gay marriage in Virginia have residents and police in Warrenton at odds with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

It suggests police and residents are at odds with the ACLU. But this incident appears to involve one officer and the police chief appears to concur with the ACLU so I would hardly say the police are at odds with the ACLU. Also, we have no clear evidence how many residents are opposed to the canvassing. There are obviously some but it could easily be a substanial minority Nil Einne 13:51, 15 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
