Factual accuracy

edit

I see here that Tobin, a former "regional political director for the RNC-affiliated National Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee, which was working to get Republicans elected to the Senate" was indicted for fraud and that his expenses (about $800,000 so far) are being paid by the RNC, that he pleaded not guilty to the charges, and that his trial is set for December. So what's with the title "2004 Bush campaign chairman pleads guilty to election fraud, conspiracy"?

Not that this isn't at least nationally important news, and it might fit well into a nonpartisan article for election fraud in general in the US, but right now it would seem to be at best misleading. Theshibboleth 17:43, 21 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Harassment, perhaps - but conspiracy?

edit

"to have the consultant's telephone firm make repeated hang-up calls to Democratic and labor union get-out-the-vote phone banks."

Wouldn't that more correctly be harrassment rather than preventing people from voting? I don't see how that would turn anyone away from voting, personally. --Mrmiscellanious 19:02, 21 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, but because of the constant hang-up calls to Democrats and Labor unions, voters who are disabled and relied on them to get transportation to the polling stations, couldn't get through and could therefore not request transportation. So, they weren't able to get to the polling stations and weren't able to vote. So those hang-up calls effectively prevented them from participating in the election. --Deprifry 19:26, August 21, 2005 (UTC)
