Talk:FDA recalls "Mama's" brand smoked salmon

Not that anyone cares, but I actually had some Nova Smoked Salmon that tasted kind of funny today... before seeing this story. Needless to say I quickly went to fish the food wrapper out of the trash after reading this article, in order to verify that (thankfully) it wasn't "Mama's" brand... -- IlyaHaykinson 05:38, 11 Apr 2005 (UTC)

The case for fair use

edit

If ever there was a serious reason for us to have a "fair use" image repository, this story is it.

It would be a public service for us to show an image of the product package, or perhaps the brand name, to our visitors.

But because we are bound to public domain images only, I can't just zip over to the Mama's brand web site and grab one, because it is "copyrighted".

I hope we get this issue resolved soon. We are shooting ourselves in the foot with a policy that prevents us from using the type of images that other news organizations use on a routine, everyday basis. — DV 07:39, 11 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Eloquence has previously said that if we write up a good policy for fair use he will make it happen. -- IlyaHaykinson 15:32, 11 Apr 2005 (UTC)
