Talk:Euro 2008: Germany vs. Spain
I see I'm getting called out in the edit comments for criticising the content for not including who Spain were playing against. Well, gee! I'm not a football fan. People have mentioned this to me, but the details have bounced off because I have no interest. I wasn't confident enough to put Germany in, or to do more than put the right categories on the article and take breaking off an article about an event that is not going to change. --Brian McNeil / talk 21:16, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
Title of the article
editTitles for all match reports outside of North America should be [Competion Name]: [Home Team vs. Away Team]. Since Germany were the designated home team, the title of this match report should be Euro 2008: Germany vs. Spain. Kingjeff (talk) 19:44, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
- Since when was such a policy agreed upon. The title should be as descriptive as possible. It is Spain winning the Euro 2008 that is of interest here. Trying to stick rigidly to this format seems quite bizarre. I've been informed on my talk page that isn't the "proper title" but would dismiss this entirely, Spain defeat Germany to win Euro 2008 seems a great deal more appropriate than Euro 2008: Germany vs. Spain. - I have chnged the title back to Spain defeat Germany to win Euro 2008 per the above comments. Anonymous101 (talk) 20:01, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
The article should be more about the match itself instead of who won the match. Kingjeff (talk) 14:16, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
- That wouldn't be appropriate, it was the Euro 2008 final, in makes sense that the winner will be the focus of the story. Adambro (talk) 16:30, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
- Well, you're allowed to be wrong. Kingjeff (talk) 03:14, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
