Talk:Drug-dealers war in Rio de Janeiro

Needs some serious edits to language. A suggested first paragraph: Between Sunday the 26th and Monday the 27th, at least 11 people were killed in a fight between drug dealers at "favela morro da Mineira"(Miner Hill shantytown) , a shantytown in the Catumbi neighborhood, the northern region of Rio de Janeiro, a major city in Brazil.

Oh, one more thing: I don't think there's a police commissary involved in the story... perhaps you meant commissioner?

I am not sure how to say the word in English. In Portuguese we say "delegado", when whe want to mean the chief of the police. It is the guy with a star in the western movies.--Carlosar 01:22, 31 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Another thing: do you know hte meaning of "Sambódromo"? It is the place where there are samba schools parade in Brazilian Carnival. If you think it is necessary you could write what "Sambodromo" means in English, since your writing is better than mine. -- Carlosar 01:22, 31 Dec 2004 (UTC)

(Carlosar 16:23, 31 Dec 2004 (UTC))I have changed the line: ...neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil's largest city to: neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I did that because the largest city of Brazil is São Paulo:

  • São Paulo: 10 838 581 inhabitants
  • Rio de Janeiro: 5 857 90 inhabitants
