"Invasion"?

edit

The use of the term "invaded" seems remarkable here. We usually refer to an invasion when a state power makes a declared incursion into the territory of another. It is not possible for a group of Brazilian citizens to invade Brazilian territory, unless perhaps they are coming in force from a neighboring country. Since this particular bunch are offering armed resistance, I suspect they are occupying. --68.68.32.82 06:11, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC)

  • Perhaps trespassing would be a better word?--213.162.108.112 19:21, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC)

comment: The words 'occupiers' and 'occupation' are more commonly accepted, and less inflamatory, that 'invaders' and 'invasion'. The original articles do not seem to support the use of 'invaders'.

I have changed invaders to occupiers. Thank you. --Carlosar 23:04, 31 Mar 2005 (UTC)
