William Shatner and the Star Trek Theme

Gene Roddenberry actually wrote lyrics to the star trek theme so he could get 50% writing credit of the song. The words don't actually fit the tune at all, so if Shatner does sing it, the consequences could be dire. I'm not sure if this should be added to the article or not, so I'm leaving it to someone hopefully with more experience than me.

Well, there is the voice over: "These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise, on a 5 year mission to explore strange new worlds and civilizations, and to boldy go where no man has gone before". I wouldn't call those lyrics, though. And yes, it scares me that I knew that, LOL. StuRat 15:38, 8 September 2005 (UTC)
