What exactly makes this front page news? This wouldn't even be front page news in a local Australian paper, much less Wikinews English-AnonymousCoward2012

First, at the moment, all new english language wikinews articles appear on the front page of the english language wikinews site. If article generation grows to the point where this is not feasable we may do otherwise. As it stands wikinews publishes about 6-12 articles a day. Individual articles can be labeled local-only if the community wishes, but this is rarely done for the reason stated above.

Actually it would make news in a Australian paper because the NSW government has cracked down on provisional drivers (those who have held a licence less than 3 years) driving powerful cars. The Aussie papers not so long ago ran a series of articles on how young drivers drive, how their statistics are poort, etc - Cartman02au (Talk)(AU Portal) 04:34, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

More than Twice

The Headline says more than twice the speed limit, but the article says he was going 202 in 110 which is 18 Km/H less than twice the speed limit.

Edit title to "... caught doing nearly twice the speed limit" perhaps? ~ Anonymous, 5:08, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

Actually his speed limit was 100 Km/h so he was going more than twice his speed limit - Cartman02au (Talk)(AU Portal) 04:32, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

Newsworthiness

What makes this newsworthy? Do Australians not speed in their cars? I've done twice the speed limit up here in the U.S. Pacific Northwest for a few miles, I just never got caught.
