Paedophilia is a crime and falls into the category of sexual abuse. Under Australian law, nobody can be executed no matter the crime. --RockerballAustralia c 13:34, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Paedophilia is not a crime in any jurisdiction I can name. However, there are various statutory offences linked to paedophilia, such as statutory rape in England and Wales, which is the act of engaging in penatrative sexual intercourse with a child of not more than twelve years of age. Wanting to have sex with prepubescant children is not an offence (almost?) anywhere; thought crimes are pointless in any civilised society.

For the record, although many news sources make the mistake, to many - such as myself - it grates to hear of someone pleading 'of' an offence. You plead to an offence. In this case, the exact offence(s) charged is/are not clearly specified in the only source I can access (The Australian is refusing to load for me). ABC talks of "plead[ing] guilty to sexually abusing the boys," but it is, to me, not clear if 'sexual abuse' is the exact name of the offence(s) - I rather suspect it/they will be 'anal rape', 'sexual abuse of a child (under the age of xyz)' or similar. I will therefore edit this article to take a, eh, circuitous route to avoid this problem - we cannot state somebody pleaded to an offence we cannot name, at least not without a little wordsmithing.
