There is a lot of new information about this thing. It is quite obvious it's kept on a low profile however, for example there is still no more realist estimate of the amount of oil that spilled. at the moment the platform is on fire after the umpteenth unsuccesfull attempt to plug the hole(that is now finally not anymore situated 2500 mtr under the seabed:D. Th reason its on fire is unknown, but it has probably to do with the amount of volatile fuels abound and a spark, however it is also possible it is a last resource attempt to prevent the oil from killing that entire sea. atm. the company is preparing yet another plugging (with mud) wich will probably fail, since the last few similar attempts with the platform still in working ordre also did. meanwhile we see an immense disaster for the environment unfolding without due attention from the media. it will probably continue untill someone decides to block the hole with explosives (that could be done deep since the spill after all is on the seabed and not 2500 mtr below) before plugging it with mud. gl24.132.171.225 (talk) 19:28, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
