Talk:Australia women's water polo team into FINA Women's World League Super Finals quarter finals
Journalist notes
editE-mail sent to scoop about this. The Australian media has not published about this yet. They are still on the game where Australia beat Canada from the previous date. My belief is the e-mail to scoop makes two sources? :) --LauraHale (talk) 01:28, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
Headline
editAbout the headline: "Australia women's water polo team into FINA Women's World League Super Finals quarter finals." "Into" is not a verb, and so I'm wondering if you mean "go to"? Still the verb "go to" is "kinda" weak. You use qualified in the story. How about "move to", "head into", "push toward", or something "sportsy" without a preposition! - "into" isn't actually ungrammatical here, just passive voice: the verb "is" is omitted per headlinese. Granted, active voice is preferable when we can swing it. --Pi zero (talk) 03:34, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Definitely not ungrammmatical, but lacks some "ummph" and the headline's too long. How about "Australian women's water polo team advance to FINA quarter finals". Just a suggestion.Crtew (talk) 05:40, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
