Talk:Astronomers witness supernova
Uh... if the star is 440 million light-years away, that means the event also happened about 440 million years ago. This is hardly what I'd call "real time" or "watching the event as it happened". This is either false information or confusing wording.
What they mean with "real-time" is that they were able to see it continiously from the beginning on. This isn't often the case. Typically, many events are only noticed "afterwards". --82.141.52.143 12:28, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
"said an author writing for journal Nature, where the report will be published on Thursday, Max-Planck." What does that 'Max-Planck' tabbed onto the end of the sentence mean? Fephisto 14:39, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- Probably some association with the Max Planck Institut fur Astronomie, but I've taken it out because it's totally unclear and makes no grammatical sense. Adking80 17:28, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
